Taken from a fan translation of the latest live letter:
"Beta Test phase 4 will run from August 17-19. Those who participated in the Beta Test phase 3 will be able to participate from August 16th. Early access will run from August 24th until the 26th with official service begins on August 27th, but the servers won't go down after Early Access, so you'll be able to play non-stop from August 24th."

Also, more details on the 1.0 character transfers:

Please try selecting your 1.0 characters and confirm your character data has been transferred correctly.
Changing the Appearance of the Characters from Version 1.0
As announced in the past, the graphics engine has been completely redesigned in FFXIV: ARR and players from Version 1.0 will receive a one-time opportunity to change the race, appearance, Nameday, Guardian and character name of their existing character(s).
Starting from the Beta Test phase 4, players will be able to make this change when they log into the game with a character transferred from Version 1.0.
Please note that if the change has been made during the Beta Test phase 4, you will be unable to make a new change in both Early Access and the official launch. |

Was talks the War AF and the WHM AF had this feature. As the WHM hoody could go up or down. Look like they have other gear also as Koiji posted. They shown the WAR AF been waiting for that but the WHM hoody would be cool to.

I believe they said on the forums that the hood thing was a bit too complicated to fix for now, so it won't be out at launch, or not at all... :p

I had to redownload/reinstall the client this past Thursday before beta started, and beta ended early this morning. Legacy members and qualifying pre-orders of 2.0 get early access this Saturday.
