Anyone else get reminded about the FFXI hay day from time to time and really miss playing? I get this from time to time but I can't bring my self to play it again even though I miss it. (also Tenshi would play with me at the drop of a hat, sry dude)

I really miss you guys some days ;_;

Also kinda funny how I was reminded today I was browsing some /v/ and came across a scantily clad mithra thread. At first I was like oh heck yes mithras that what I'm talking about! but then all the memories Sad

Yeah, I miss the good-old-days, too, but I think they are, sadly, in the past. I think we should just be happy we had that--I don't connect nearly as much socially in MMOs as I did in FFXI, and I'll always treasure that game and the friends I made from that experience.

Hell even i've taken a break from 11 now and I've stuck with it for all this time... didn't help that DA collapsed due to RL but /sigh, upside the new director seems to be more interactive the tanaka.

I've seen two games that I bought and paid premium for go either F2P or B2P in a very short time. From now on I am not investing in a game for at least a year. I'm still playing both, and the change in model isn't a horrible thing overall, but it does leave me feeling a little had. The Secret World continues to be fun, The Old Republic was a pretty sore disappointment but I'm still playing that for free from time to time.

Neither game is as fun without the social network we had in FFXI, however.

So still don't get it, buy to play is you only pay the price of the game with no monthly fee?

Also for a time I had rediscovered a new "family" if you will but 11's archaic design for endgame just isn't friendly for grown-ups /sigh

I don't want to jinx it, but the FFXIV alpha has been promising so far.

A bit off topic, but the thread title makes me think of Weird Al's Those Were The Good Old Days every time i see it.

I'm still holding onto Guild Wars 2, but I don't have any to play with, or I'd play it more regularly. The christmas event is going on right now, and it looks like fun! Is there anyone who plays pretty often on GW2? I'll server hop over and play with ya!

Other than that, FFXIV ARR looks to be exciting, but I managed to pretty much clear all "unique" content within about 15 hours of playing it. Course, I know there's not much they're putting out yet. All that's left in the alpha would be to grind Tam Tara over and over =P

I had a blast with everybody, and you're all still welcome to drop me a message anytime.
I'm engaged in real life to a wonderful lady now, so I've been occupied lately. I do like hearing from everybody though! :3

Yeah Squitt she's a cutie too (good luck finding enough space for all of your guests).

I'm friending more and more of you on Faysebewk because I don't really have the time and effort the be a part of an established MMO community anymore and I'm quite content with just keeping up with you all.

I still think we should all meet at a nice central location and play some miniature golf, or we can go to the UK and crash with Dove and Harmy, lol!
