What's everyone playing these days?

I'm still loving The Secret World. I feel like I want to check out GW2, but I just can't commit to another game right now and I'm having too much fun in TSW.

Haven't played Diablo III in ages. I unsubscribed SWTOR but may go back once it's F2P in the fall.

Still thinking about FFXIV. We'll see.

I miss all you guys.

I'm trying to get ahead in life, but feel like I'm just spinning my wheels and staying in one spot.

I've been playing sports, but recently re-injured my knee that I had surgery on last year, so it seems that my youthful days of playing sports carefree are gone.

I've got a girlfriend that consumes a lot of free time, but that is how it should be.
As for games, I'm on my Xbox for spurts at a time. Right now I'm sticking to Madden13, Halo Reach, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Minecraft.
Its been over a year since I last played FFXI, every so often I feel like returning but I just look at the content that is out and feel overwhelmed. That game has passed me by, I was never one of the elites, but I have a feeling I'd be completely gimped.

As of right now I'm not picking up another MMO. That could change, but I think it unlikely with my current pursuits.

Good to "talk" to you again Wum. :)

I play FFXI part time, and that's about it. Most of my friends are heavily into Borderlands 2 right now, but I don't really have the time to devote to it. I guess I'm mostly waiting for FFXIV 2.0.

Still playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. Currently on The Shadowlands server, as is anyone who had a PvE character on an East Coast server. Round 2 of the server consolidations was done recently and all of the old origin servers are gone. I had a sage hit level 50 just yesterday. So I have 4 characters at 50 on this server and 2 more on a west coast server that I never touch any more. Seem to have found a decent guild to run with, no drama and kind of casual.

A new life awaits you in the Off-world colonies! A chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure!

I stopped playing D3, i still need to try the 1.4 patch but honestly i'l probably wait till they add more stuff since the game was horribly unbalanced.

I have GW2 and its fun, tho i haven't played it much this past 2 weeks. The PvE is all about helping each others. There's no mob claiming so everyone jumps in if they want the mob and the loot is personal so if the mob drop loots every player who tagged the mob properly pick their own share from the corpse or the loot chest.

There's no specific hard stone roles set for each jobs. Ok some jobs are better at tanking then other and some jobs can help cure groups of people but the game was build so that you don't need to shout for 1 hour for a healer or tank or support since each job is self sufficient yet can work well as a group and complement it.

The best thing about GW2 is its free. Tho they have implemented a Gem system. You need gems to increase the size of your item bank or get a 6th character or more. You can also buy some booster items with gems or keys to open locked chest. The good thing is the locked chest don't contains much important stuff that you would want to waste money on keys since you can get some as quest rewards and they have implemented a feature that allows you to trade in-game gold coins for gems. The only down side is you will only get enough gold coins for the bank upgrade when your past level 60 or farm a lot since the quest rewards is low and there's a fair amount of money sink to prevent inflation.

The things you can buy with gems aren't game breaking so it's doesn't affect the players who doesn't want to invest real money and for those who want to invest money since you don't have a monthly fee, you can get some nice boost. It's more balanced then what i would have guessed.

There's also Daily quest that reset every night at 8pm which are easy to do in 1-2hour depending on your luck to find events. In each map there are events. Most are kill waves of monsters either by protecting a zone, escorting a npc or attack the monsters village. But there are gathering events too and some events are just interactions with npcs. The events are varied and their difficulty increase with the number of players who do the event.

Some events will only trigger after a successful event. Like clean the mob from an area then after that a Boss event will start a few minutes later. Or after a protect the area mission, a go help a npc fetch what was stolen event will start.

There's a monthly quest too. Most of it is easily gotten in a few days of work but there is 2 thing really annoying about it. One is you need pvp kills tho those can be gotten thru WvsWvsW but its not that easy for some jobs. And the most annoying of all is you need 100k worth of exp without zoning, logging out or dieing. Takes around 3 hour more or less depending if your lucky to find a lot of events or not.

I've tried the WorldVsWorldVsWorld a little since for the monthly quest you need pvp kills but find it really unbalanced. Since it all depends on how many people do it on your server and at what time of the day they do it. So some days you come in and the enemy owns the world, your server works hard to conquer half of it then during the night or the morning few people on your server can play but on the other server its their prime time, you lose everything again. It can be frustrating.

But WvsWvsW is really fun too. You can build and use siege weapons, improve the castle like hardening the gates, setting a teleport, adding boiling oil on top of the gate or other things. Tho i don't play it enough or have enough money to buy any of those i can still use them if the person that built then leave them unattended.

They also implemented a level synch system where every area are set for a specific level. So even a level 80 can die in a level 7 area but you also get a fair exp reward for completing level 7 quest or events and you still have access to your skills even the high level ones so you can kill stuff faster but not too fast.

There's also some group dungeon. I've found 2 and they both have 2 area, one for story mode and one for exploration mode. One at level 30, 35 for exp mode and one for level 40, 45 for exp mode.

The 1st one was a real pain. The mobs were killing us really easily, the traps were deadly but it was really fun. The exploration mode of the 1st one was even worse the monsters were totally overpowered almost 1 shotting us right and left but we still managed to finish it. You unlock teleport points after every mini boss kills so its not that bad and its fun when you have a good group.

In the 1st one exploration mode at some point you had to stop like 100 mobs from killing some npc or us with traps. Each member of the group had to activate a different trap on the floor to kill the monters while someone was staying down there as a bait to keep them in the multi trap area since there were too many to normally kill and the traps were not that precise. We failed the 1st try but once we knew how to do it we barely succeeded the 2nd try.

The 2nd dungeon story mode was really easy. It was just talk to npc to advance the story then kill a mini boss, then some random minions and a boss. All were really weak.

The game is pretty fun overall, there a few random annoyance but a lot fewer then i have anticipated from a starting game and since its free, i don't have to force myself to play it, i can just take a break and come back to play when ever i want.

I got borderland 2 for free so i'm trying it at the moment but i find the starting of the story mode a little annoying so i'm not sure if i will play it often yet or not.

I've been playing FFX, got back into that in August, just started up WoW again cause my Brother plays and wants to play the new Expansion. I also stopped playing D3.

Its nice to see a post with all the familiar names, it would be nice to see more of them.

I've been playing the game called "Michael Gets His Degree 2: This Time it Matters." The graphics are amazing, but it is the most time consuming game I've ever played. During the week, I spend about 12 hours of my day at work/school, another hour exercising in some manner, and the rest trying to balance a social life, girlfriend, and getting sleep. Lack of gaming time has really helped with my running, and I'm hoping to finish my first half marathon next year. I haven't really seriously played a game since FFXI ended, though I do have an Xbox and a Blockbuster account, and get random games sent to me to play when I have some spare time. Feel free to add me to any Xbox gamer tag circle thingies, whatever it's called!

I have, however, been keeping a close eye on FFXIV's progress, partly because if I do ever get back into a game, I would like the familiarity of the worlds, partly because I dropped the $70 on the game, but mainly because I hope to see a few familiar faces and friends from gaming past. Like Wumy said, I really do miss you guys... a lot.

I'm playing Guild Wars 2 right now.

I think lucky summed it up pretty well, and in my eyes and heart its the game I wanted FFXIV to be. Me and Duna are both on Maguuma but he's such a beast he's probably gotten several characters to 80.

I just hit 75 on my main. It's a lot of fun and it is a great game for a small to medium group of close friends. I think HS members would love it, at least lore and world wise, as there are so many little things to share.

Other than occasional DotA 2 game, I'm too busy to do anything else, lol.

While on the subject of missing folks...

Do we still have a TS/Ventrillo/Mumble server? What's preventing us from hosting one to keep in touch, regardless of what game we are playing?

If we don't and everyone is truly interested in chatting, I wouldn't be opposed to setting on up for us. I miss you guys!

Still "The Secret World" for me, though I'm down to playing only on weekends because work is hellish. The cabal I joined kinda went to GW2 (though a few have stuck around) so I'm in a new one called "League of Monster Slayers." Last night we did a bunch of lair raids in our pink bunny slippers. I like them (the slippers and the new guild) a lot. Smile I also just got a rocket launcher, which is fun but kind of useless until I put some points into it.

There's not necessarily character progression in TSW either. There's an ability wheel that you earn action points to unlock, and also skill points which are a sort of "rank up" system. The ability wheel has something like 550 abilities on it, and you get a lot of flexibility in terms of what you want to equip (you get two weapons). It's all a bit overwhelming but I am enjoying trying out different combinations as I solo.

TSW isn't f2p (yet, though I suspect that'll be coming in a few months), but they already have the item store set up. Fashion is kind of the fun social thing in this game--I rather enjoy dressing up in different outfits to fit the environment I'm in. At the moment I spend most of my time in Maine and it's perpetually fall (eldrich fog, long story) so I'm sporting a rather rugged cowboy look right now. When I go to the desert I wear a tshirt. It's not full-on role-play but it's fun.

I plan to pick up SWTOR once it becomes f2p this fall, just as an alternative.

I'm pretty sure Doc's Mumble server is still running. at least it was the last time I tried. Okay, just tried it now and yes it is still up. Instructions in this thread:

I've been playing....well not much really.

Guild Wars 2 sporadically now. It's still a good game, but I find myself with a lack of friendly faces to go romping around with. Shef has me a bit over-exaggerated =P I have a level 80 Mesmer, and a level 21 Thief. That's it. I've been working on gear and other things for my Mesmer, and goofing around in WvW and sPvP.

When I get tired of that, I played some Starcraft 2, and rage and my inability to be good at that game.

Working full time, and going to school part time (9 credit hours currently). I should have my associates degree in CIT (finally, something...) after this coming spring semester. From there, not sure what I'm going to do. Probably transfer to a 4 year university, and hopefully find an online program that I can work in.

I have a girlfriend, who, as Squitt said, takes up time, as it should be. She keeps things interesting from day to day. Besides that though, life has kinda become very routine for me. At the age of 22. Feels like I skipped a step somewhere in life.

I have been playing mostly D3 up until about middle of last week, then started playing Trochlight II.

I am also playing Street Fighter x Tekken atm, and I still have an account with FFXIV, however I have not played that in months.

Waiting to see what version 2.0 is like before i make my final decision on playing or not.

I've also been watching James Bond alot, I bought the complete series (minus Never Say Never Again, released by a different production company) on Blu-Ray.
