Is there maintenance tomorrow? If so, I see my FFXI maintenance curse has followed me. D:

Quick warzone question: How early can you start doing these? I did one once and ended up, as a level 12 characer, in a warzone full of level 40 players. Needless to say, I died a lot.

I've started as soon as I get to the fleet, around level 11 I think. You will get killed a lot, especially before you get Sprint at 14. Try to stick with the largest group since that will improve your survivability a lot. I still get killed a lot at level 50, but that is because I tend to try to draw off people from the main fight. I think by about level 20 you should have enough abilities to be able to hold your own in fights.

Hutt Ball is a lot more fun on a character that has ranged attacks. You can sit up on the ramps and shoot at people.

Random Pick up group last night, went through Eternity Vault. Managed to beat the entire thing after 2 hours with my sorcerer. Yay for gear and codex entries!

Clearly, if I am going to be doing more Warzones and PVP (which are fun though a bit repetitive) I need to do some research. I am clearly not geared for it, as I got my butt whipped by several level 30 characters last night, when I'm 47. True, I am a squishy consular, but it really did seem to me that the Imp sorcerer's have better abilities. They locked me up quite a few times to the point where I couldn't do anything except stand there and convulse. TK Sage doesn't really have anything like that. It was annoying.

Also, how do you pass the ball in Huttball? I couldn't figure it out last night.

Finally, how does one get to do an Operation? Can you do those with a pickup? Where do you go for them? I've done flashpoints.

For Hutt Ball there is an ability called Throw the Hutt Ball or Pass the Hutt Ball, it looks like a grey circle with some bumps on it. Click on that and then it gives you a targeting circle, put it on the ground and click. Whoever is closest to the center of the target grabs the ball, so be careful that a team mate gets it.

In PvP all characters get everything buffed to where they would be at level 49. Skills do more damage or healing, your HPs and Armour are increased. Also there is a buff on PvP armour called Expertise that increases damage and healing in PvP fights. Imp Sorcs are really annoying, but that ability that sets you spinning around has a Sage equivalent that stuns a target. If there are multiple Sorcs around and you resolve bar is empty they can stun you twice. Read the PvP forums on the offial website, there is discussion about all this stuff there.

Operations, I haven't done any yet either, but look for people shouting at the fleet. My guild will likely do some soonish, we are trying the level 50 Flashpoints now and will likely move on from there. Also at 50, try to do some Hard Mode Flashpoints or HM when people are shouting.

In PvP, prior to being 50, gear doesnt matter much, since you get boosted stats anyways, and there doesn't exist any sort of expertise (which is the PvP stat). At 50 though, you'll notice people taking less, and doing more. This is due to having the level 50 PvP specific armor, with expertise on it.

Operations are simply quests you pick can pick up at 50, and there are specific area's to do it in. From my personal experience, Normal-difficulty Operations are both easier, and better to do, at fresh level 50, to gear yourself up.

Hardmode Flashpoints can be fun, but most of them are too long or difficult, with little reward in the end. But if you're looking for nothing but a challenge, then they're right up your alley!

If you have any questions about operations... I know far more than I should. Having to raid-lead these with my guild and all that.

IN related news: Patch 1.2 is coming out on Thursday. There's a lot coming out, and alot of changes to PvP. Lots of new crew skill stuff, as well as unlocking the legacy abilities. All kinds of new stuff. Check out the notes!
