Getting a 1000+ Darkness from a 600ish Gekko was HAWT!

But the 1500+ from the 1000ish Gekko was hotter. Very Happy

O.Hat , Hauby, Chiv. Chain, Spike Earring x2, Espadon +1, Ammemet Mantle and Sword Belt +1 on me at all times.

I could prob. change out my rings too if i am not having to tank, but only 2 times i have been asked to meripo since 74-75 was to main tank in the pt's Haul formed.

Granted i could also form my own pt's, but as most of you know by now, i don't like to pt grind, so when i notice meripo's being formed i don't exactly say "pick me", but i have noticed the other pld's on the ls at same time are not being asked either, which leads me to think pld's are not wanted in sc meripos.

like I said PLD can compete with the right setup, however its not exactly easy getting the gears needed to do that, added to the fact that plds can really only compete instead of excel like the sams wars nins mnks drks

Still, if you have players who know what they're doing, as a PLD you don't really need to compete. Tank the mobs at the start, and as soon as DDs start WSing, mobs die fast. I've partied with plenty of PLDs, and on stuff like Trolls and Mamool Ja, they're great. A THF or /THF to pin hate, and DDs who watch their timing, and you're good to go.

As a Black Mage who gets to sit back and watch a group of veteran 75s laughably attempt to pull off skillchains in parties, BCNM fights, Limbus, and any other event where I'm asked to be ready to Magic Burst, I speak from experience. Even if people remember the timing for skillchains, other people will randomly weapon kill to interrupt the intended skillchain 95% of the time. I've long since deleted my macro for equipping Magic Burst-specific gear and just use Thunder IV, Blizzard IV, Thunder III, and Blizzard III as if the announced skillchain for the event doesn't exist.

I never claimed to be always right or divine, but I do claim that after observing everyone I play with on the Fairy server, skillchaining is a dead art.

Wellllll

Once we figured out that we could make darkness, it started happening pretty regularly. It just takes a bit of time to get it down pat, then it works great.
