For those that were told (by me or Squit) that I was returning, cancel that. It appears my account is permanently disabled with no weekend support. That's right, kids, if you want to take your time off to play, but need help with your account, screw you.

So when I first installed playonline, I was able to get past the first login (to log into playonline), but not the second (to log into your ID). I tried a few different passwords and then was informed of too many bad tries, so my account was "temporarily disabled". I took the time to install the rest of the CDs for FFXI, did something else, then tried again. Can't get in to pol at all. After reading some news articles and other things to allow more time to pass, I tried again. No luck. I just tried again this morning, and it appears my account is still "locked".

I'm now removing all that I installed. If they can't be bothered to help me on the weekend (isn't that like peak play time?) then I can't be bothered to give them money. Of course...I CAN'T give them money anyway! I CAN'T log in, or contact them.

So much for that idea.

What is there to persist? Going to their office, breaking down possibly secured doors, and reactivating everything myself? If I call, I don't get a human being that I can tell "But wait! I'm not sure when I'll get time to do this during your normal business hours!" I doubt they'll handle account issues over email...I know if I ran such an operation, I wouldn't. These days, I'm pretty busy at work so I'm not likely to be able to do this from there. It's simply not worth dealing with when it's a video game that I would be paying a monthly fee for. If I was already paying the fee, I might have a reason to, but I'm not.

In all honesty, if this was for a brand new account, just bought the game, and have no history with it, I would have abandoned it at that point as well. I guess things haven't changed with POL/SE...they get all this money in from monthly fees and pocket it rather than enhancing services.

BTW, their support number is not even toll free. If I was still in the stone ages and had to pay for long distance, I wouldn't have even attempted to call.

Maybe you should sleep on it~ Don't make a hasty decision that you might regret later.
