I am curious to know if anyone else was having the same issue as Lutra has lately with her 360.

While in Besiege she has been able to go through the whole thing right up until the mobs warp out and you are awarded the points. It is at that point that her game freezes totally and she needs to shut down and log back in, of course losing everything she just spent time doing.

This happens regardless of the view she is in, (behind the character or 'looking' through the characters eyes.) and only on the higher level Besiege events - perhaps something to do with the number of people in the area.

This has happened multiple times with more than one 360 to her.

Qtaru has been in the same events but his PC does not have these issues.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing and if so have any ideas on what could be the issue?

Thanks

I believe it has to do with the system limitations. There are menu options and configuration adjustments that you can make on a Laptop that are simply not available on the PS2 and Xbox versions (Shadows, Weather Effects, ect).

At the end of a besieged the system is receiving so much more information than it can handle that it locks up. System limitations severely limit the use of a PS2 in Sea, and as the system aged it's also started to effect regular CoP zones like Pso'xja. My PS2 at the point now where unless it's a wide open area, it will bog down and take a good 5-10 seconds to update a single frame if there is a large group involved.

We're running on a desktop, a laptop, and a 360 in our house. Honestly, the 360 has been the most stable version. The laptop constantly overheats, and the desktop occassionally loses full-screen mode for no reason. The 360 has mysteriously frozen twice ever, but otherwise has never had a problem.

This happened to me exactly once on a PS2, with the same results. I was still able to chat, however.

When you lost your full screen, did you had any program running in the background, like anti-viruses or instant messager program since when another program try to show a window, the focus switch to that window and FFXI lose fullscreen.

One time, I tryed to hook my computer to my tv screen to have a 2nd desktop (a extended desktop) to show maps and maybe access the internet, but it didnt worked.

The FFXI lost full screen thing is not just losing full screen but is losing "Main Focus" too. I could move my mouse around on the tv screen but every time i clicked on the internet browser, It (the browser) would get "Main Focus" and since FFXI lost its main focus, it would crash with the lost full screen messages.

So what im saying is if another program on your PC tryed to show a window or just a popup messages, FFXI would lose its main focus and give you the lost full screen messages.

Xbox froze at the end of the 3rd level 8 besieged last night. Crying or Very sad

Lucky, yeah sometimes the full-screen is messed up by virus scan pop-ups or Windows updates. Other times it's just a mystery. I blame Microsoft for it, since there's no reason full-screen programs should be interruptable by other programs. This has made me angry since Windows 95 launched.
